Minutes of Meeting April 15th, 2009
Attending: Chuck & Lea Hecht; Jim Bregel; Ralph and Ada Hunstad; Bud and Becky
Meyers; Jodie Crowell
12:31 p.m. President, Chuck Hecht, called the meeting to order. After the Pledge
of Allegience there was a moment of silence for those that have gone before us.
12:33 p.m. The Secretary’s report was presented. Ralph shared that there is the
possibility that Kris and Jerry will not need the $500.00 budget for ATU. Becky
made a motion to accept with noted corrected; Lea second; motion carried. Chuck
asked that the minutes be sent to Dave Hemmer and shared that Harry Osborn is
now Chapter President.
12:43 p.m. The Treasurer Reports from Denver were shared and recapped. They were
approved as presented. Becky shared her email address as meyers929@msn.com.
OLD BUSINESS
12:47 p.m. Jim stated that he hadn’t heard anything more from the Fish Lake
Assn. about the playground equipment. He said we should just drop any further
discussion on this project at this time.
12:49 p.m. Discussion was held about the $100.00 paid to the county Food
Shelves. They should have been done in March but this was an oversight by Jodie.
Jodie introduced a motion to share with the Food Shelves in Cottonwood,
Chippewa, Jackson and Kandioyhi this March; Becky seconded motion carried at 12:
55 p.m.
12:56 p.m. Ralph considered the Spring Fling a success with 28 Pioneers and
Partners attending. Sweatshirts were auctioned; drawings for door prizes and
there were new people attending.
NEW BUSINESS
1:01 p.m. A request from the Windom Area Hospital Foundation for funds to help
with the purchase of special lighting in the OB Wing at the Windom Hospital was
discussed. Jim made a motion to donate $300.00; Ralph 2nd; motion carried.
1:04 p.m. Ralph made a motion to donate $150.00 to the Founders Campaign of
Montevideo; Becky second; motion carried.
1:06 p.m. Ralph made a motion to donate $100.00 to a project in Montevideo
“Leave No Trace: an effort to stop pollution; Jim seconded; motion carried.
1:08 p.m. Ralph made a motion to donate $300.00 to a building repair project at
the Chippewa County Historical Society; Jodie 2nd; motion carried.
1:09 p.m. Ralph made a motion to donate $100.00 to the Girl Scouts in
Montevideo; Lea 2nd; motion carried.
1:10 p.m. Ralph made a motion to donate $100.00 to the Monte Feista in
Montevideo to put a unit in the parade; Jim 2nd; motion carried.
1:11 p.m. Ralph shared that all of these requests are for the funds he raises
for the Council from the sale of calendars. He also shared the Fall Fling for
the Northern counties of our Council is October 2nd. Jim made a motion; Becky
2nd to provide $50.00 for door prizes.
1:18 p.m. Becky shared that she hadn’t had check on the ownership of the
property that was discussed for a small park on the square in Windom. Her and
Bud’s life has been effected by his diagnosis. He will now be receiving
treatments and she could use some help getting back and forth to Mankato.
1:23 p.m. Discussion was held about a Fall Fling for the Southern counties of
our Council. We will check with Brenda Harder, Kitchen Manager of the Eagles
Club, about a date. Tentative date set as September 25th.
1:25 p.m. Next meeting will be September 30th at the Eagles Club in Windom.
1:26 p.m. Meeting adjourned.
