"I want you to know that you're an important part of our team."
We do our best to support patients in ways that go beyond their medical care.
Thank you again for the beautiful hats. I know how much our patients
love to wear them, and how much care goes into each one you bring to us.

MEET THE CENTRAL COUNCIL PRESIDENT

As a second year President I first want to thank the members that supported me in the first year.   Because of the membership support I agreed to submit my name again as the President of Central Council.  Thank You.
A number of projects were done as a group like “Hug A Bears, EZ Help Cell Phones, Disabled Veterans Deer Hunt and Turkey Hunt, House Painting and Readers for Life.”  There are also projects that are done on an individual basis like knitting mittens for the poor, Knitting Chemo Caps for Coborns Cancer Center, sewing wellness bags (wheelchair and catheter bags), nursing home visits, computer assistance, food shelf volunteer, life line installer, and any other volunteer project you do in the name of Pioneering.
Yes, I had some disappointments in 2007, especially in the area of new members.  Recruiting is probably the most difficult for me since I never worked for the phone company.
Pioneering, whether it be Qwest Pioneers or any of the sponsoring companies is like a family.  We are united by the communication bond doing service to our communities.  It is the first week of February, 2008 and we have just conducted our first Mn. Chapter meeting.  I met 2 people that had retired but they wanted to get back into the family so they attended the Chapter Meeting

I am looking forward to another good year.
I have already contacted a volunteer who said he would try to get a project going here in Little Falls.  We learned about the project at our Denver Training Session.  The project I am referring to is Repairing Talking Books.  Talking Books is a project for the blind, so they are able to listen to books on tapes.  The recorders have routine repairs on them.
We just finished our Holiday coffee here in Little Falls and we are planning our spring fling.  The life member club will be having a picnic again this year also.  I hope to see you at one or all of these functions.  Our meetings will be posted on the MN website and we hope you participate in them.  Remember, this is not just a 3 or 4 person group, it’s your group and you can have a say in how things should be run.

                                                Yours in Pioneering
