QWEST PIONEERS MEETING
ARROWHEAD COUNCIL
April 28, 2010

The meeting was called to order by JoAnn Cooper at 10:07 a.m. Pioneer members present were Barb Cane, Don Fennessy, Bill Carlson, John Warren, Betty Lee, JoAnn Cooper, and Nancy Eilefson.
OLD BUSINESS:
Financial Report - Barb reported on our finances.
Life Member Report – There wasn’t a meeting in March because there weren’t enough reservations. John Milani and John Skelton passed away. Cards were sent; obituaries were posted to the website.
Hug a Bear Report – We are still working on the bears. Betty will contact the Cloquet Hospital and Barb will check with the Life Care Center to see if they need more.
Chapter Update – A grant is being put together to ask for funds for MACV. The chapter asked us to have a tea social; the regular Pioneers will host this event. It is being planned for June 2 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Other – Our refrigerators are not working. We are not sure what the problem is but it may be a breaker. JoAnn disposed of most of the food that was in them. MACV has a wish list for the Duluth, St. Paul, and St. Cloud area. This list will be posted for collections.
NEW BUSINESS: Nothing further was discussed.

Our next board meeting is May 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pioneer Lounge, Fourth Floor Melrose Building in Duluth. All Pioneers and guests are welcome. We meet the 4th Wednesday of each month.
The “Spirit of Service” ride will be July 17, 2010. Chapter meetings are scheduled for June 11th in St. Cloud, September 10th in Duluth, and December 10th (place not confirmed).
There wasn’t a March Life Member Luncheon. The next Life Member Luncheon will be May 19. All are welcome; reservations are necessary.
We meet at 10:00 a.m. on the first and third Monday of each month to work on Hug a Bears or other projects. Please feel free to join us.
