EARTH DAY BEEPING EGG HUNT

Minnesota Qwest Pioneers hosted a Beeping Egg Hunt on a sunny Earth Day afternoon for students at the MN State Academy for the Blind located at Faribault MN.

Hiawathaland Pioneers prepared a picnic cookout supper prior to the egg hunting.  Metro Life Member President Pat Jeukens appeared as a friendly bunny and helped guide students as they roamed the grounds listing for the beep of the scattered eggs.

Fifty students and staff from the boarding school and Qwest Pioneer Volunteers attended the event.  There was great interest in who found the most eggs.  Each student was given a treat bag to bring back to their dorm room.

MSAB Athletic Director Kim O’Donnell says the student really look forward to this event.  She states it is good outdoor exercise and sharpens the listening skills these kids work at developing.

The school has invited the Pioneers back for next year already.
