Beep Egg Hunt

2008 - Academy for the Blind in Faribault

SPRING BEEPING EGG HUNT HOSTED BY QWEST PIONEERS
Qwest Pioneer volunteers from the Hiawathaland  Club area helped students at MN State Academy for the Blind celebrate Earth Day in rousing style.
The Volunteers laid out dozens of beeping plastic eggs and students located them by listening intently for the beeps, scooped the egg up and put them in their baskets.  There was quite the competition to see who would gather the most eggs.  A life-size Bunny (we believe it was Luann Chambliss from the Metro Council in the bunny suit) cheered on the egg searchers as they scrambled after the prized eggs.

Pioneer volunteers served up a nice picnic supper of hotdogs, chips and soda to students and staff at the school and presented each student with a basket of goodies.

Kim O’Donnell, Recreation Director at the MSAB boarding school, said the kids had been eagerly looking forward to the event.

It was a fun way for Students, Staff and Pioneer Volunteers to enjoy and celebrate a sunny Earth Day afternoon.
